TL Hanna would like to congratulate TL Hanna Hall of Fame coach Sandy Thompson on her recent induction to the SC Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2026.
Thompson coached at TL Hanna from 1986 until retirement in 2012. Her coaching record in boys tennis was 349-100 and her girls record was 339 and 107. Her teams won 15 boys and 13 girls region championships and 3 state championships. She was the SC Athletic Coaches Association Tennis Coach of the Year 4 times, the National Sectional Coach of the Year in 2008, and the Region Coach of the Year 28 times.
She was selected by her peers to coach the North/South All star match twice in her career, and also served in various leadership roles with the SC Tennis Coaches Association and the National High School tennis Committee.
She will be inducted this summer at the SCACA Clinic in Greenville in July.
