Senior Melina Moncada Lema and sophomore Emery Tripamer concluded successful seasons with TL Hanna girls tennis making runs at the state singles tournament that came up just shy of earning all state staus.
Lema finished 2-2 on the day with a first round win over her opponent from Wando. She dropped a second round match to the eventual third place finisher in the tournament before rebounding to defeat her opponent from JL Mann. Her final match to earn all state staus and advance to day 2 was an 8-7 loss to her opponent from Hilton Head.
Tripamer dropped her first round match to her opponent from West Florence, who finished as the tournament champion. She used a dominant performance against her opponent from Daniel before falling in a close match 8-7 just two matches short of all state honors.
