GIRLS GOLF EXCELS ON DAY 2 AT MAY RIVER INVITATIONAL

The TL Hanna girls golf team brought home most of the hardware from the 2025 May River Invitational after Day 2 of tournament play at the very tough May River Golf Course at Palmetto Bluff. The Jackets were able to make up a 7 shot deficit on the final two holes to force a playoff with River Bluff High School. In the playoff, the Jackets were able to play the par 5 #18 hole as a team in one over par, defeated River Bluff's 2 over par team score and earn the tournament championship.

Individually, Marissa Scaletta and Serra Erlenkeuser finished the 36 hole event tied for the individual medalist honors. Erlenkeuser forced the tie for the lead after posting a two over par round of 72, which led the tournament field on day 2 at Palmetto Bluff. This followed her career low round as a golfer on Day 1 when she fired a one under par 71. However, Scaletta birdied the first playoff hole to finish as the individual champion, leaving the Jackets with the team title and the top two individual placers in the event.

Sierra Schulze and Hanna Erlenkeuser also turned in solid performances in the event and played well on the playoff hole to help TL Hanna secure the team title. Hayden Bell played in the number 5 spot for Hanna and played well in her first trip to this event.

Erlenkeuser gave her thoughts on her play and the team championship here:
