TL Hanna varsity football dropped a season opening loss at Byrnes 30-10.
The Yellow Jackets and Rebels were held scoreless in the first quarter as both defenses dominated the action. In the second quarter, Byrnes busted loose for 3 touchdown drives to take a 20-0 halftime lead.
TL Hanna answered in the second half with ten straight points in the third quarter as the defense forced a safety and quarterback Gavin Magin sneaked in a TD run from the one yard line to make it 20-10 headed to the 4th quarter.
The Yellow Jackets drove inside the 10 yard line twice in the 4th quarter down 13, but were unable to come away with points before giving up a late touchdown pass to give the final margin.
